The School Day
Arriving at School
The school gates open at 8.30am and class teachers are then available either on the playground, or at your child's classroom door should you have any quick messages or questions. Children are welcome to go into their classrooms from 8.30am onwards.
Once children are in their classrooms, they are registered promptly and settle quickly into morning routines, including working on key skills, small group teaching interventions or 1:1 sessions. It is therefore essential that children arrive at school on time. Children arriving after the gates have been closed at 8:40am need to be brought to The Hub (main school office situated between both schools) and signed in. They will be marked as “late”.
Breaktimes
Children have a break in the morning session. We welcome children to bring a healthy snack in to eat during breaktime. If your child is in the infant school, a piece of fruit/vegetable is provided for them on a daily basis which is funded by the government.
Children in the Junior School are welcome to bring in a snack from home. This must be a healthy snack such as fruit/vegetable/cereal bar. Sweets and chocolate are not permitted. Please remember our schools are nut and kiwi free.
