An exciting opportunity for the post of Class teacher with Year leader TLR 3 responsibility is now available at Bursledon. You will have the chance to lead, motivate and really make a difference to the lives of the children, families and staff at our popular, friendly and nurturing Federation. Whilst we recognise this is a fixed term position, we are a set of large schools and therefore we would hope to be able to offer a permanent contract as soon as this was available.
We are determined to instil a love of learning (for both pupils and staff) and fully embrace our vision and values of love, respect and aspire - they sit at the heart of everything we do. As a federation we give children consistently challenging, yet supporting learning opportunities within a broad, balanced and creative curriculum where risk taking is encouraged and where children can learn from their mistakes. Are you looking for an opportunity to help manage a fantastic school site, taking pride in your work, engaging with professional development and working in a supportive and stimulating environment?
The Federation of Bursledon Schools wish to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and practical assistant site manager to join our happy and hardworking team. The new post holder will work alongside our experienced senior site manager who will help with training and who will take the lead on specific aspects of the role.
We are looking for the right person to help manage our site security and safety, carry out grounds and site maintenance tasks, update risk assessments and ensure operational effectiveness across the school site.
The successful candidate will have, or develop an awareness of Hampshire County Council and school policies and be prepared to engage with Professional Development ensuring statutory checks and responsibilities are fulfilled.
The post is for 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday.) Additional hours may be required by mutual agreement to take account of the changing needs of the school, there may be some flexibility able to be offered in the hours/ pattern of hours worked. Interviews will take place on 13th March 2025.
Basic computing, literacy and numeracy skills are essential. (Support and training can be provided.) The role will include occasional working at heights and moving and handling of objects. Training will be provided.
We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager who will:
- Ensure the security of the school buildings and site, liaising with staff, contractors and the local authority as appropriate.
- Oversee and engage with the cleaning and maintenance of the site.
- Undertake minor repairs, maintenance and decorating.
- Manage contractors as appropriate.
- Undertake checks and maintain records to meet statutory health and safety requirements e.g., COSHH, writing and reviewing risk assessments and testing fire alarms etc.
- Liaise with the SLT about lettings and wider use of the site, working flexibly to meet the needs of the children and the school.
- Have a key holder responsibility and be prepared to attend out of hours emergency call outs.
- Be a keen team player, flexible and resilient with good communication skills.
- Take pride in their work and manage their workload through being self-motivated, observant and proactive.

A number of our children find it difficult to stay access the curriculum without additional inventions, guidance or support- sometimes this is inside the classroom, other times this is outside of the classroom, including lunchtimes.
