Collective Worship
In our school we have 'Reflection areas' in every classroom which enable children to spend time at any point in the day to reflect, sit and stop. They have the opportunity to take a prayer pebble and say a prayer and then place it into the basket on the table. We have class monitors in each class who take special care of our reflection areas to ensure they are kept clean, tidy and allow each and everyone of us to use.
In each of the year group shared spaces we have a 'Prayer area' and this enables pupils to write their own prayers and hang from the tree. Each of the prayers are then taken into Collective Worship in the hall or in the classroom if the children chose to do this. It is a way in which we can focus on the thoughts, feelings and prayers outside of the collective worship moment and continue it throughout the rest of the day. Every few weeks we remove some of the prayers from each shared Prayer area and move them into the main tree in the reception area.
